Sara Casciati is permanent faculty in the Department of Engineering at the University of Catania, Italy and a co-founder of R2M. She is expert in reliability, risk, and structural health monitoring and author of over 100 peer reviewed publications. She is a member of the scientific international associations EACS, EUROMECH, EASD, CATBI, ANCRISST, & SAMCO and reviewer for the ISI journals JSC&M, J ENG MECH ASCE, ACTA MECH, & SSS. Her research interests include non-invasive seismic retrofit, shape memory alloys, structural control, structural health monitoring, robustness, wireless sensor networks and energy harvesting.
Main area of activity in R2M:
Sara contributes to the engineering and sensor aspects of several projects to include ToMax, Built2Spec and MARIO. Strategically, she takes care of the linkage between R2M and academia.
