On 26 November in Milan, during the GBC’s event to present the position paper “Smart Building: Digitalisation for Net Zero” to the Italian Minister Matteo Salvini, R2M Solution and Arcadis launched “Smart Ready GO”, the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) software for Italian building assessors. The software, co-financed by the European LIFE Programme, is recognised by the EU as a pivotal tool for implementing and standardising the SRI in Europe. Smart Ready GO is tailored to assessors, asset managers and building owners to easily assess their properties according to SRI. The event is the official launch for the Italian market.
The Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) is an assessment methodology launched by the European Commission and mandatory for large buildings in 2027 in accordance with the EPBD recast that provides an approach, methodology, and results to discuss building smartness as it relates to building performance, occupant comfort and grid readiness.
The SRI assesses a building’s smartness over several building domains such as heating, cooling, domestic hot water, ventilation, lighting, dynamic building envelope, electricity, EV charging and monitoring and control ensuring that buildings meet the EU’s energy efficiency and smart technology standards.
Smart Ready GO! The new SRI platform
Smart Ready GO!, developed within the EU LIFE research Project SmartSquare, is one of the first Smart Readiness Indicator Software Platforms available on the EU market. The platform offers standardised assessment procedures, results visualisation, and portfolio management, along with training materials. The event will mark the launch of R2M’s distributorship to support the use of this platform on the Italian territory.
Smart Ready Go! is a one-stop shop. You can learn about the SRI, plug into training and support, and conduct assessments in an intuitive way, but what I like most is that it organizes and stores your assessments across time in a digital database. That makes it easy to provide support across a fleet of buildings or clients
Thomas Messervey, CEO R2M Solution
Thanks to Smart Ready GO, Assessors and Asset managers can deliver SRI assessments easily, provide clients with professionally presented visualization results, and manage all the projects in one place. General building owners have the opportunity to receive a deep analysis of their properties to plan efficient requalification works based on data.
The launch presentation is within a half-day event organised by the Green Building Council (GBC) Italy to present the position paper “Smart Building: Digitalisation for Net Zero”. The event is a unique opportunity to explore the future of smart and sustainable buildings while connecting with key stakeholders in the green building sector.
The position paper, released in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, analyses and documents the potential of Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twins and innovative smart building technologies to achieve Net Zero Goals in support of the energy and digital transition of the building sector, which is responsible for 36% of Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions.
R2M Solution was represented by Lorenzo Cifariello, Technical Manager – Innovative Products Division, who contributed to the panel discussion about Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) and Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).
