Omar Caboni, holds a MSc degree in Architecture and Building Engineering from Università degli Studi di Cagliari and a Master degree in Bioclimatic Architecture and Sustainable Environmental Technologies at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. In 2016 he pursued a Doctoral degree in Mechanical Design at Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering Department from Università degli Studi di Cagliari with focus on the energy modeling and computational building performance dynamic simulation of the building envelope and the HVAC systems of a monitored buildings.
His major skills are building physics and energy/thermal modelling and building performance dynamic simulation, in both new and existing buildings, in order to build sustainable and Zero Energy Buildings.
Omar is part of the Energy & Sustainability division. He is involved in the HORIZON 2020 European Projects (HIT2GAP & EnergyMatching) and in Energy & Sustainability Strategy, as Certified Energy Manager (EGE) including: Energy audits (compliance with DLgs 102/2014); Design of energy efficiency solutions; Building performance dynamic simulation; Energy assessment; Environmental Assessment procedures (BREEAM & LEED). Omar is also part of the IES Virtual Environment team.
