Lorenzo Elia is a registered Professional Engineer in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He attained the Master of Science (MSc) in Structural Engineering at University of Pavia in October 2012 and in the same year, he pursued a PhD scholarship at University of Pavia, where he received the Doctoral Degree with merit in 2015. In the period after his PhD, he served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Catania in the department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering. His main research interests include the control and the structural health monitoring of large structures (such as bridges, tall buildings, and so on). His skills also include structural analysis and design (steel, reinforced concrete, and wood) and finite element analysis (FEA).
Main area of activity in R2M:
Lorenzo is a member of the Engineering Team and he is responsible for project developing on Horizon 2020 (INNOQUA, REWASTEE, ToMax and Hephaestus) and European funded projects. He is involved in the proposal writing and he provides consultancy on European Project for the development of new technologies and products. Lorenzo also works closely with the Sustainability Team for the structural design development of the projects.
