Motivation & Impact
HYPERGRYD is addressing different options for RES-based Smart Hybrid Grids development and it will impact on technologies in several sectors, on operators and on end users. Accordingly, the project will create all necessary tools and investigate all pre-conditions to enable Distric Heating and Cooling grids with more than 50% RES penetration (hight RES DHC grids).
The same tools will also enable exploitation of excess heat from prosumers and industrial processes. HYPERGRYD will create pre-conditions for dramatically reducing the curtailment issues and will heavily simplify LEC integration in a hierarchical market, offering balancing, storing and demand-response features. This set of impacts will create for the first time the actual enabling conditions for a cooperated operation and management and full integration of thermal and electric grids, thus bringing ahead the concept of Smart Hybrid Grids.
Role of R2M
R2M will serve as the innovation/exploitation manager for Hypergryd leveraging to the combined competence of the Innovation Division, Energy Services & Sustainability Division and Engineering Division. In this capacity, R2M will guide the consortium through the identification and management of exploitable results, value proposition design of these results, the management of licence agreements, the IP protection and how they results together into systems, business model design, validation and testing and then the formation of an exploitation plan that is the end result ER – Value Prop – Business Model – Business Plan.
