Motivation & Impact
EVELIXIA will lead a paradigm shift by allowing buildings’ energy to become flexible and dispatchable in response to grid requests, rendering consumers/prosumers as active players in the energy markets. To achieve this, EVELIXIA defines 5 Innovation Pathways (IP) (Building-to-Grid, Grid-to-Building, Stakeholders Interaction Platform, Interoperability & Abstraction services and building-level hardware innovative technologies) and delivers 29 relevant Innovative technology Solutions (IS) that move Beyond the current State of the Art (BSoA) in the field.
Role of R2M
R2M is responsible for:
– the development of the SRI Advisor tool which is one of the innovative solutions developed in the project. The SRI advisor tool will provide Building Owners and Managers with tailored recommendations on how to level up their SRI class by 1 letter. The tool will analyse the possible technology upgrade packages, with a view to determining the most cost-effective building upgrades to achieve a higher SRI score.
– the development of the methodology for Smart Readiness Indicator for Districts. This methodology will calculate the SRI on a district scale for the seven pilot sites and will provide a coherent quantitative assessment based on the district’s overall energy storage capacity, load shifting potential, its ability to actively interact with the energy grids and the resulting CO2 emission savings compared to a non-interactive system.
