Motivation & Impact
The DECODIT project aims to empower citizens to navigate the complexities of energy transition through innovative digital tools and services. Key expected results include the Consumer Digital Twin, enabling sovereign data management for households, and the Empowered Citizen App, which offers intuitive, local-language communication to reduce barriers related to digital or energy illiteracy. The project will also provide an Energy Management Toolbox for personalised decision support and emissions reduction, a Renovation Support Toolbox for green retrofitting guidance, and a Financing Toolbox to ease loan underwriting for energy transitions. Additionally, DECODIT will establish a Data Exchange Infrastructure to drive the data economy and offer market design recommendations that leverage the flexibility of residential energy assets.
The project outcomes include a 30% energy literacy enhancement, 130 Consumer Digital Instances deployed, and over 100 home upgrade assessments. Further, >85% acceptance of DECODIT tools, >30% home energy efficiency improvement, and collaboration with >70 smart energy market actors will showcase its impact. DECODIT will also demonstrate personalised loan underwriting across four European countries.
