Sustainable Places is the Europe’s #1 destination for EU research collaboration and market opportunities in the built environment. Sustainable Places is the R2M Solution flagship conference known for showcasing tangible outcomes from European and national innovation projects related to the interdependent topics of buildings, sustainable energy, cities, smart grids, and digitalization. The event reached its 12th edition, and it will take place on 23 – 24 – 25 September 2024 at the European Convention Center in Luxembourg.
R2M Solution’s mission has always been to link the world of research with the market and stakeholders with the scope of supporting digital and green transitions in the building and industrial sectors. To meet these goals, spreading innovations is pivotal. With this spirit in mind, in 2012 we launched the first edition of Sustainable Places.
Our idea behind Sustainable Places was to bring together cutting-edge research and innovation projects, demonstrating that the path to a sustainable future lies in our hands. Renowned for showcasing results from the EU Horizon 2020 and EU Horizon Europe Framework Programme, the scope of Sustainable Places involves designing, building and retrofitting the places we live and work more sustainably.
Sustainable Places prides itself on being an ideal platform for disseminating research, conducting workshops, clustering EU projects and networking between stakeholders of all types. Sustainable Places 2024
This 12th edition is a special one due to the co-location of the 3rd Built4People Stakeholder Forum on the 23rd of September and the Luxembourg Innovation Day on the 25th of September. The 12th edition will present almost 40 workshops and 12 paper sessions to promote project methodologies and results.
This year, it will be a hybrid event co-organized together with LIST- Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology and with the support of the Luxembourg National Research Fund.
In this edition, Sustainable Places received the official support of CINEA with its LIFE Programme – CET that will exhibit at Sustainable Places 2024, as well as the Built4People projects’ Inherit, Snug, Regen, Rehouse, and StarTrack. BUILD UP, the initiative by the European Commission dedicated to supporting Member States in implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), is Sustainable Places media partner.
The 2024 edition has been sponsored by the Building Digital Twin Association, Accept Project, Sender Project, Hestia Project, Smart Spin Project, Arcerol Mittal, and Smart Buildings Alliance.
SP2024 will be held over three days in a hybrid (digital + in-person) event format. Its programme includes:
